Simulink coder and disabled subsystems

I'm trying to generate code from a Simulink diagram which contains an enabled subsystem. The enable is tied to a workspace variable that is always 0 (the subsystem should never be enabled). Still, it seems that the coder tries to generate code from this system. Why is this happening? Can I stop it from happening?
Thanks

I have the same problem. It seems that the optimization "Simulation and code generation -> Block reduction" doesn't properly work in this case.

Check if
Optimization > Inline Parameters
option is selected.
If this option is not selected, then Simulink will assume every parameter as tunable and it will be included in code independent of its value.
