whats wrong with this code?

This is a code taken from mathworks.com webpage. When I run this code, I get an error saying undefined variable or function Lastname. I really dont understand what I have forgotten to do here.

my_tab.Properties.RowNames = LastName;

You are referring to LastName with a capital N. You have not defined a LastName with a capital N: you have defined Lastname with a lower-case N
