Hello,
Is RACH procedure implemented in the toolbox? If so, what are the classes that defines random access functionality? Does it support 4-way handshake or/and 2-way RACH enhancement in R16?

Hi Sachitha,
I understand that you want to know how RACH is implemented in the MATLAB’s 5G Toolbox.
There are different RACH formats available. The RACH procedure here supports a 4-way handshake as briefly described below:
  1. The UE makes its presence known to the network by sending a RACH.
  2. The gNodeB replies by sending a RACH access response carried by the PDSCH.
  3. The response to the RACH access response is a contention resolution message. It is sent via the PUSCH or data-carrying channel.
  4. In the final step, the gNodeB acknowledges the contention resolution message by sending back the device identity.
