Problem getting matlab to start using Ubuntu 22.04 ... did not have a problem previously

I'm not sure why I cannot get Matlab 2022 or any version for that matter to start on Ubuntu 22.04 ... followed guides on the install using sudo commands where appropriate ... please help no errors or information is being provided ... it just hangs when running ./matlab .... note it seems to install and activate appropriately
