How long does the student license last?

I want to know the duration of the student's license key when purchased.

It shows here that the Student license is Perpetual, meaning you can use it indefinitely (as long as you can)

As long as you can ... be a registered student.

I gather it is valid only as long as you are a registered student. So when you stop being a student, the license goes away. I don't think they have a good way to learn when you stop being a student though.

I suspect the honor system works out best for everyone. Not every degree granting institution will hand out free proofs of registration.

Especially for PhD students the end point can be up for debate.
