Does update apply to all MATLAB including toolboxes or can I selectively apply updates to toolboxes?

I have MATLAB Simulink and a number of toolboxes installed. Once I install (say) R2020a, there are options for periodic updates without switching to another major update.

When I apply the update, will it apply to all installation including toolbox or not?

It will update all toolboxes that you have installed. Also if you install new toolboxes online after the update it will bring in the updated version of those.

If you install the update and then later try to use saved installation files (such as from an ISO) to install additional toolboxes then the installer will complain that the installation files you are using are too old.
