Hi,
In Simscape Electrical, you can replace a Lithium Ion Capacitor (LIC) with a Supercapacitor but it's important to note that there are significant differences between the two technologies, particularly in terms of voltage and operation.
LICs typically have voltage ratings similar to lithium-ion batteries, which can range from a few volts to several hundred volts. Supercapacitors, on the other hand, have lower voltage ratings compared to LICs. They typically operate at lower voltages, commonly ranging from a few volts to tens of volts.
When replacing a LIC with a supercapacitor in a Simscape Electrical simulation, you need to consider the voltage ratings of the specific supercapacitor you are using. Ensure that the voltage rating of the supercapacitor matches or is within the operating range required for your simulation. Additionally, you should also consider other parameters such as capacitance, internal resistance, and power characteristics when replacing a LIC with a supercapacitor.
Kindly refer to the below steps to replace lithium ion capacitor with supercapacitor:
  1. Open your Simscape model in MATLAB.
  2. Replace the lithium-ion capacitor component with supercapacitor component. In the Simscape Electrical Specialized Power Systems library, you can find the "Supercapacitor" block that represents a supercapacitor.
  3. Configure the parameters of the supercapacitor component. Set the capacitance, maximum voltage, and other relevant parameters according to the specifications of the supercapacitor you are using.
  4. Save and run the modified Simscape model to simulate the system with the supercapacitor in place of the lithium-ion capacitor.

Hope this helps.
Thankyou
