Simscape License Checkout failed using Simulink Online in self-paced Online Course "Power Electronics Simulation Onramp"

17 views (last 30 days)
When using "simulink online" in the Browser window for my self-paced online course "Power Electronics Simulation Onramp", I get a "license manager error -5, Cannot find a license for simscape." message. I am aware, that I do not possess a simscape license, but this should only matter when using my local matlab installation. In simulink online, all required licenses to complete a self-paced online course should be available.

Hi Oliver,
Please try launching the course from the "Start Course" (or "Resume Course", if you have already started) button on this page: https://matlabacademy.mathworks.com/details/power-electronics-simulation-onramp/powerelectronics
(If the button says "Take Course" instead, please sign in first: )
A dialog will open up. Expand the "Launch in browser" section and click the "Take the course using Simulink Online" link.
Are you able to launch the course this way?

Hi Alisha,
I tried launching the course in exactly this way, and it used to work until a few weeks ago. I finished 47% of the course, but within the last few weeks, this license problem occurred.

Hi Oliver,
Apologies for the frustration. In that case, I would try either obtaining a free trial of Simscape Electrical or creating a service request.
