How do I open or convert a .sbproj.zip file in Simbiology?

One of my colleagues wanted to send me the newest version of our Simbiology project. However everytime I download the .sbproj File it gets converted into an sbproj.zip File and I cannot open the Project as a whole in Matlab. Havent seen anyone with the same problem so I hope somebody can help me.

An .sbproj file is a specially formatted .zip file. So perhaps whatever you're using to download the file recognized it as such and added the extension. The first thing I would try is just changing the extension back from ".sbproj.zip" to ".sbproj" and see if you can open it.
