@Ben: I do not assume that somebody does the work for you.

Computer programming is often considered a branch of mathematics. There has been extensive work on the mathematical foundations of computer programming.
When I went to university around 1980, I was a math major, and several computing courses were mandatory for our degree, starting in our very first term; computing courses were also mandatory for accounting and business and engineering (though not necessarily in their first term.) It seems... odd... to me that any math major would not have done computer programming in the past and yet would be expected to handle optical character recognition.

First insight, Ben: do not create duplicate questions on the same topic, or the duplicates will be deleted.

People do not get a choice on the "doit4me" tags that other people add. Anyone can add tags (no matter if they are a moderator or not). If one of the moderators feels that the tag is not warranted or is no longer warranted, then the moderator will remove the tag. I know that I have removed doit4me tags from postings in the past.
However, the best way to get a doit4me tag removed is to show actual work and progress. Once someone shows that they have done something on their own, produced a good try at the code, or even just gotten to the point where they are asking specific questions about MATLAB, then often a "doit4me" tag will be removed.
If you wish to get the "doit4me" tag removed from this post, then send a message to any of the moderators -- files@mathworks.com, Walter Roberson, Fangjun Jiang, and Jan Simon are all active moderators; the other moderators are generally pretty busy these days.
