Simulink: simulation speed slows down when window is not in foreground

I have a simulink model that is used to simulate an electric drivetrain of a electric vehicle. It is meant to simulate 1800 seconds with a sample rate of 1 microsecond. According to my extrapolations, it should take 4-6 days to finish.
However, I realised something strange. When I change from the Simulink window to another application (Simulink runs in the background) the simulation speed of simulink drops significantly, approximately to 15 % what it is when I have the Simulink window in the foreground. This is also evident from the fan of the notebook, it drops in speed significantly when Simulink is in the background.
Anyone has a clue how I can change the settings so that Simulink always runs with full power?

Does anybody has some clue?
The simulation is running in accelerator mode.
Sounds like something about which you may want to contact MathWorks Technical Support.
