I am getting the "something-unexpected-occurred-error" on a mac w/ apple silicon when trying to install documentation from the settings menu.
I have already checked and don't have the parallel computing toolbox installed, but still get the error. I also have tried closing and reopening matlab as well as downloading and reinstalling matlab and restarting my computer.
Maybe it's a permissions issue, and I believe I allowed it in my firewall settings, but no luck. I'm not sure which permission needs to be unlocked if that's the case. The below link is the one I tried following to deal with the issue, but the downloads page doesn't allow for me to choose DMGs so I can then choose documentation. Am I missing something?

I was also facing a similar issue and installing MATLAB using the MATLAB Package Manager (mpm) fixed it for me.
To install using MPM, you can refer to the following MathWorks documentation: https://www.mathworks.com/help/install/ug/get-mpm-os-command-line.html
