What's the most suitable Vivado version for Matlab 2025a

Hello,

I'm happy to hear that the Matlab 2025a has been released. I have an AMD Versal AI Edge evaluation board, and I want Matlab cooperate with AMD Vivado. However, the device image generated by Vivado 2023.1 has a problem in writing device image. Thus, I could not finish the fpga inloop test, and do not know whether the problem is caused by hardware.

What's the best suitable vivado version for matlab 2025a?

MATLAB R2025a has not been released as of the time of this posting.

MATLAB R2025a Pre-release is available to qualified users.

Additionally, generating AI Engine code in this example requires a Linux operating system. For Linux distributions supported by Vitis Model Composer, see Vitis Model Composer 2023.1 documentation on the AMD® website.

AI Engine runtime needs additional coordination with AMD and further qualitifcation. Please watch out this space for updates on the R2025a compatibility information between HDL Coder and AI Engine Workflow.

The AMD/Xilinx support team has indicated that they are working on resolving the R2025a pre-release and upcoming R2025a AI Engine compatibility issue and aim to support it in the upcoming Vivado 2025.1 release, expected in the next couple of months.

If AMD/Xilinx resolves the issue in Vivado 2025.1, HDL Coder team will also require additional time to test, integrate support, and backport the solution to R2025a update patch release.

Until this is resolved for AI Engine support in Versal devices it is recommended to use the supported versions shown here for use with Versal AI Engine + HDL Coder.

Please note this R2025a incompatibility is only for AI Engine support in Versal; the use of PS+PL fabric should have no issues with HDL Coder targeting Versal Devices in any of the official releases where Versal support is available.
