use custom fonts to my MATLAB Desktop

I followed the steps and added fonts to dir
but still can't get custom fonts available in my preferances
can you advice how to add custom fonts to be available in Preferences?

Does
version -java
point you to the place/version in which you placed the font files?
<This link> may also be of some help...if all else fails, call Mathworks installation support.

I see this:
it does not show the "place" ....?
It still doesn't show the installed fonts on Settings > Appearance > Fonts

I was able to import the 'Fira' fonts into my version of MATLAB 2024b by following the steps in the MATLAB Answers post you have linked. It is important to restart MATLAB after pasting the '.ttf' files in the fonts folder.
If the problem still occurs, I would recommend contacting MathWorks support.

it does not work me :( and I can't import even I follow the steps.
BTW I'm using "New Desktop" which I guess you're not using ..

The problem is the New Desktop that is shipped with Matlab 2025a. The method that suggests adding the fonts to \MATLAB\R2025a\sys\java\jre\win64\jre\lib\fonts does not work in the New Desktop.

Looking into details it appears that the font problem is due to java not being enabled in R2025a.
