Is it possible to downgrade Matlab to 2014b or earlier version

3 views (last 30 days)
I recently installed 2015a to ubuntu 14.04 and it seems to have some problems, e.g. it is slow, ginput() not work properly, isosurface colour strange and some functions no longer in use (I don't want to change my codes since I have a lot to do). The same codes run perfectly on 2012b and on both unix and windows systems.

Yes, you can install previous versions of MATLAB (as long as they will work on your system.) You can have multiple versions of MATLAB installed at the same time.
If you have a current support contract, then you can download a previous version of MATLAB from the License Center.

Sorry I might be stupid here, but I now have two versions of Matlab 2012b and 2015a installed on my ubuntu, but every time I launch matlab, it automatically launches 2015a, even if I execute matlab at the 2012b directory. So how should I launch 2012b?

You need to give the path to the shell script that sets up the environment variables and starts up the appropriate bin/matlab binary. Or at least you need to be in the appropriate bin directory when you start matlab, not at the matlab root directory for the installation.
