Matlab Online will not open Simulink Blank Model
Show older comments
I was in the middle of building a simulink model when simulink froze. I attempted to close the simulink window but it wouldn't respond. Using bdclose did not work either. Finally simulink unfroze and asked if I wanted to save before closing, so I saved and allowed it to close. An error dialog box was generated that will not go away (shown below). I have tried using commands to get rid of it and it's still there. Pressing "ok" or the "x" does nothing.

Furthermore, when opening simulink, simulink opens and allows me to select which file to open. I choose to open a blank file and it gets stuck like this (shown below). I have tried waiting over 30 minutes several times now, it does not open fully or allow me to modify the blank model. Using bdclose('all') is the only way to get it to close, as attempting to close the simulink window normally does not work. Attempting to open Simulink settings via the settings menu allows the settings to open, but freezes immediately after opening and will not close under tradtitional means. Essentially all of simulink except for the starting page is completely bricked.

I have tried clearing /session folder in Matlab drive as well as disabling all browser extensions but that didn't seem to help at all. I have also disabled the "Use graphics acceleration when available" setting. I am on Chrome running Matlab online version R2025b.

Assuming you have not already done so, I would recommend clearing the cookies for your browser and then retrying. Additionally, based on the error dialog shown, it appears to be related to a debug session. Please note that using the Simulink Debugger in MATLAB Online is a known limitation. You can find more details about this limitation in the MATLAB Online documentation here:
