How to get matlab messages in Java code

Hello I am trying to figure out how to get all the messages printed by the matlab code, which are usually dumped on the System.out. Is there any way to retrieve them and use them in the JAVA code using the matlab-compiled JAVA class?
Or is there a different way to print messages in the matlab code that is more JAVA-friendly?
