Licence manager reporting wrong hostid (error -9)

4 views (last 30 days)
Hi,
I've been to www.mathworks.com/support/lme/R2015/9 but it does not have an answer to my problem. I installed Matlab on a Linux machine which is an imaging master; that is, I install software on that and then clone the whole OS onto many other PCs (like 'Ghost').
So, the hostid error is not wrong, as the Mac address of each PC is different. But how can I get around that? We have an academic site licence so there is no problem with installing Matlab on many computers. We did so with R2014 and it worked fine.
Oddly, this problem does not seem to happen with the Windows version (according to my colleague).
Thanks, Mark

Thanks but no that doesn't answer my question. I've already read through the page referenced by the link you posted. The problem I am having is: I can install successfully on one machine, but when I clone that working installation to other PCs, they won't work because they say the hostid is wrong. (presumably because they have different mac addresses)
