What is Matlab doing by saying "processing..." at the bottom of "Current folder" window?

I just installed Matlab2015b on OS X El Capitan, the problem is while launching Matlab, there is something under processing, if I don't cancel it, finally my Matlab will hang on there and is not responsible... why?

Fixed the problem !...
navigate to the MATLAB > General > Source Control

Works also for my R2019a! Thank you!
My computer almost takes off from the desktop because of this issue. Thank you so much mysterious unknown.
works for 2020a, thanks so much!
Please see https://www.mathworks.com/help/matlab/matlab_prog/select-or-disable-source-control-system.html for some details on this function. But I do think that MathWorks should consider turning off this source control intergation by default.
Thanks very much! :)
MathWorks should disable this source control integration by default. As for those who are asking what this does, some information on it is available online at https://www.mathworks.com/help/matlab/matlab_prog/select-or-disable-source-control-system.html.
And also happenned to me with R2023a. Thanks!
