Create 2-D plane wave from specific angle

Hi guys,
To begin, thanks for taking the time to read and look at this post. I am currently trying to simulate the following: a 2-D (x-z plane) plane wave (beam) from a specific angle that is illuminating an object. I understand the overall concept and the equations that I am supposed to use. I am just really really confused in how to formulate this simulation, especially in terms of incorporating the angle component.
For starters, for the initial electric field, I will have the plane wave x object. The plane wave will be formulated with the following equation: exp(1i*kxo*x)*exp(1i*kyo*y). How do I obtain x, y, kxo, kyo, and the angle of the beam? What assumptions must I make and what do I have to define beforehand? If I know kxo and kyo, is that enough? If anyone could direct me in the correct direction, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you so so much!

Hi Betty,
I have similar problem. Please let me know if you were able to simulate.
Thanks in advance.
