How does one configure a matlab workstation to see a license on a flexlm network license server?

Do I use 27000@licenseserver for the file installation key or what?

You are a bit unclear.
The file installation key is used when you activate an installation without an internet connection. This is not the case for network license servers. Please refer to this tutorial .
