Formatting Time Strings

I have a vector of time strings which look like this: ' 2011/11/01 09:00:00.792'. I want this string to look like this: 20111101090000792. How can I acheive that. Thanks.

One of many ways:
str = ' 2011/11/01 09:00:00.792'
str2 = str(isstrprop(str,'digit'))
