No toolboxes are required. The toolboxes are add on products, and MATLAB can be installed by itself.

You will get whatever toolboxes you purchased, if any. They're all optional. If you don't know what toolboxes you might want to purchase (which ones might be helpful to you), I'd discuss your application needs with someone on the sales team at the Mathworks.
