Problem opening figure (.fig) with boxplots in some Matlab versions

Hello,

I am having some problems with opening a figure that contains some boxplots. The .fig was saved with MatlabR2012a and the Matlab with which I am opening the figure is R2014b, but does not have the Statistic Toolbox, can this be a problem in order to open a .fig with a boxplot? I have tried with some other Matlab versions (all with the Statistic Toolbox installed) and the figure was opening without any problem.

The error I am getting is

Undefined function handle.

Error using struct2handle
Error while evaluating Group DeleteFcn

Hello again,

I have checked in more detail and it seems that if I save a .fig of one boxplot (let's say figure;boxplot(rand(1,100)), this fig cannot be opened in a Matlab without the Statistics Toolbox. Does this makes sense?

You are correct, that figure will not load without the Stats toolbox being installed.
