Matlab PDE tool error

I am trying to use the matlab pdepe tool, and when trying to replicate the two problems they provide as examples I get this error.

Undefined function or variable 'pdexic'.

Error in pdepe (line 229) temp = feval(ic,xmesh(1),varargin{:});

I am new to using Matlab and cannot understand how a replication of the example leads to an error. help is appreciated.

You do not show your code attempt.

Example 1 at http://www.mathworks.com/help/matlab/ref/pdepe.html does not refer to pdexic : it refers to pdex1ic, the code of which is given there. Likewise the second example refers to pdex4ic, the code of which is given there.
