How to use path- and filename from GUI in matlab script?
Show older comments
I have created a GUI that will ask the user to browse for a file, display it and then open the file when prompted. I wish to use the same pathname and filename in the script used to analyze the file which is run by pressing a button in the GUI. So far I have to find the file and pathname twice, both in the GUI to be displayed and again in the script to further analyze the file. Is there a way where I can call for the file- and pathname already found in the GUI in the script, possibly by using global variables? I have posted my code below with the GUI first followed by some of the script. Thanks in advance.
function varargout = GUI(varargin)
% GUI MATLAB code for GUI.fig
% GUI, by itself, creates a new GUI or raises the existing
% singleton*.
%
% H = GUI returns the handle to a new GUI or the handle to
% the existing singleton*.
%
% GUI('CALLBACK',hObject,eventData,handles,...) calls the local
% function named CALLBACK in GUI.M with the given input arguments.
%
% GUI('Property','Value',...) creates a new GUI or raises the
% existing singleton*. Starting from the left, property value pairs are
% applied to the GUI before GUI_OpeningFcn gets called. An
% unrecognized property name or invalid value makes property application
% stop. All inputs are passed to GUI_OpeningFcn via varargin.
%
% *See GUI Options on GUIDE's Tools menu. Choose "GUI allows only one
% instance to run (singleton)".
