hello, Is there a direct function in Matlab to quantize fixed point numbers to specified numbers of bits.....

If you are using the fixed point toolkit then use eps to get the relative quantization error.

If you are not using the fixed point toolkit, then you will have to undertake the calculation yourself.

Please note: when asking about fixed point numbers, it is best to say explicitly whether you are using the fixed point toolkit or not. Your earlier questions referenced DCT, which does not assume the existence of a fixed point toolkit (just of something that will do arithmetic with the properties required for DCT.)
