OpenCV vs MATLAB in terms of the output accuracy

I wonder if there are any differences between opencv and MATLAB vision toolbox in terms of the outputs accuracy. Currently trying to replicate a previous research but it was done with opencv and I'm interested in doing that via MATLAB so am I going to get a similar results or it is a worthless try?

Some of the underlying portions of the Computer Vision toolbox are implemented by calling upon OpenCV libraries, so those portions should be exactly the same.
I recall that a couple of months ago I chased through the implementation of the cascade object detectors and found that they called upon OpenCV.
Other portions are implemented within MATLAB directly.
Which functionality were you thinking of using?

Initially Cascade Object Detector then HOG and SVM for verification

Nearly everyone uses one of the libsvm editions, so the SVM part would likely be the same as well.
I do not know how HOG is calculated.
