Updating of new Matlab software

I'm wondering if I can uninstall Matlab 2016a because I just installed Matlab 2016b, or is this not possible?

Yes, you can.
But if you observe any strange behavior and assume a possible incompatibility or a bug, it is fine to have another Matlab installation for a short check.
