Is there a MATLAB function that can plot data as bars along (perpendicular to) a satellite track superimposed on a map of the Earth?

I am trying to plot data measured by a satellite along the satellite track, in the form of colored bars perpendicular to the satellite track. The tracks are not straight lines. Is there a function in MATLAB that can be used for this?
