How to set the default colorbar label text interpreter?

I can't seem to find the appropriate object property to set the default text interpreter for the colorbar label.

Setting the default text interpreter ... set(groot,'defaultTextInterpreter','latex') ... gets the job done for axes labels, but it does not carry over to colorbar labels. The colorbar class does allow for setting the default tick label interpreter, but no luck for the label interpreter.

Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks!

Not possible as of 2017b, see this answer.

You can set it manually after the plot with

h.Label.Interpreter = 'latex'

where h is the colorbar handle.
