License on an external hardrive

I don't have a steady computer and was hoping to download MATLAB on my external hard drive so I would be able to take it to whatever computer I would be working on for the day. I used my sisters laptop to buy and it downloaded right on to her laptop. Now when I try to open it on the hard drive it says I need the license key but when I try to type in the number I see in my account nothing happens. I'd really appreciate a little help figuring out where I need to go to find the right license number and figuring out how to activate it.

Sorry, you can only install MATLAB on a computer that you (or your company) own or lease. That means you cannot borrow your sister's computer to run MATLAB.
If you are a student then you can use MATLAB Online; see https://www.mathworks.com/products/matlab-online.html
