What would be the objective function for maximum and minimum active power flow for the OPF?

I have to make the OPF for a 4 bus system (with a parallel VSC-HVDC) and my task is to maximize and minimize the active power flow is a system. My question is how to make an objective function for this task as in most of the OPF its either loss minimization or cost minimization.
