Referenced model compilation hang issue

I have a project that requires concurrent execution. Because of this I must use referenced models. My project requires frame-based processing and after converting my project from subsystems to referenced models, port dimensions have had issues. Specifically, I get error log messages that the input port dimensions are [1x1]. I read in online forums that the solution is to specify the input dimensions in the input component of that model. However, when I do this, project compilation hangs and I have restart Matlab to recover while click through two different ‘hang’ windows. What steps can I take to: 1: Debug the hanging issue…ie logging\procedure modifications etc…? 2: Work around the input dimension issue?
