Simulink does not start anymore (busy)

Hi,
I am on Ubuntu 14.04 and yesterday my SIMULINK was working great. Today I tried to start a model and it is not working. I am sure I am opening a model which was saved with matlab 2015b.
When I type in the command window 'simulink' matlab just gets BUSY and never exits from this state. How can I solve this problem?
I tried to do:
rehash toolboxcache
but I have the same result.
Please help me.

Interesting. So you can use MATLAB itself, but Simulink just spins its wheels?
I'd first verify that your drive is not corrupted.
Then I would try a re-download (thus a re-install) of MATLAB. That takes relatively little time if you have a fast connection. You can even use my export_search_path tool (on the file exchange) to save your current search path, then it is easy to import that search path into the new release.
If that fails, then I'd contact tech support.
I have the same issue, but on Windows 10, MATLAB 2017b-64. It remained after re-installing MATLAB.
Simulink needs around 15 minutes to open. MATLAB says it is ready, lower left corner. But my mouse is spinning. So I am not able not use MATLAB either. I was hoping it was only once, but I occurs every time I reopen MATLAB. After opening SIMULINK once in a MATLAB session, I can open and close it as many times, with very quick opening again.
I have the same problem. Is there any solution? I would say it’s not because of the computer (MSI RAM:16GB, Quad-core i7)

After 15 minutes now it started. I don't know what happened. Usually it starts in maximum 2-3 minutes.

I have been facing the same issue. I solved the problem by installing the newer version of Matlab(in my case, I install matlab2017b witch I already had version 2016b of it.) on a different path without uninstalling the older version.
