What does the Matlab student version have that the Matlab home version does not?

My MatLab student version will run out within the next year. I'm just wondering if I will have the same capabilities with the home version. For example, the symbolic toolbox is supported by the student version. Will I still have it with the Home version, or will I need to purchase that separately? What all would I have to purchase with the Home version to make it just as useful as the student version?

There are no bundles for the Home version: all toolboxes are extra cost.

The Home version shares the Student restrictions on Simulink:

• Models (including the blocks in referenced models) are limited to 1000 nonvirtual blocks.
• Accelerator and Rapid Accelerator simulation modes are not available.
• Model blocks can be simulated in Normal mode only.

The Home version can purchase almost all the same toolboxes as the Student version. The excepts are that the Student version can purchase MATLAB Coder, and Simulink Coder, but neither of those can be purchased for Home version. Neither Home nor Student can purchase MATLAB Compiler, or MATLAB Compiler SDK.

The Student Suite Bundle is aimed at the most commonly used toolboxes for students, but it is not expected that any one student will have need of all of those toolboxes. It is probably not worth you buying all of the same toolboxes as the Student Suite Bundle. For example, I have never used Simulink Control Design, and my only use of Simulink Control Systems toolbox has been to answer questions that other people have asked.
