Estimating Motion Vectors and finding average displacement on 2 images.

I was wondering if anyone had experience or knows how to estimate motion vectors associated between two photos? I'm new to signal toolbox. I believe you can use features or fourier transforms to do this but I'm unsure on how to implement it. Is there a way to find the average displacement as well? I attached the two images that are of interest.
I'm thinking this might be possible with surf functions?
