Why are table cells empty in GUIDE app run mode, when I see them in .fig mode?

I have a table in a GUIDE app that I filled from a workspace variable. I see the table cells filled with the numbers in the .fig window. But when I run the app, the table is empty. I've tried with the columns editable and non-editable. I can access the numbers in the table in the code. Why are they are showing up in the table when I run the app?
