find the best slice from ct volume

hi. i have a 2D image of echo which consist of LV contour. and also i have a volume of cardiac ct that i want to find the best slice of it that best matches to my 2D image. if i start to slice the volume with different points and normal vectors(https://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/fileexchange/32032-extract-slice-from-volume) it will be infinite situations does any body know how can i find the best matching slice to my 2D image from my 3D volume?
