How can I view an internal signal of a reference model in Accelerator mode?

I would like to use a Scope to view an internal signal of a reference model. However, if I put a Scope inside the reference model and run the simulation in Accelerator mode, the Scope is not updated and remains empty.

Here are two ways to accomplish this:

1) Using "outport" blocks in the model reference and scoping the relevant signals from the top-level model.

2) Using the Simulation Data inspector (either from the top-level model or from the model reference) and logging the desired signals.
