Can't activate MATLAB license

I'm trying to associate my account with a license given by my university. I went to the "Associate license" page, but when I write the license number and press "Associate license", it gives me this error: "The license number or activation key is invalid". I'm pretty sure the license number is valid (I got it from University's site). Unfortunately, when I created the account I selected the wrong option at the question "How will you use Mathworks software?" (I selected "Student use" instead of "Academic use"). Could it be the cause of the problem?

Some of the Mathworks staff have said in the past that the question is only for information and does not affect anything.

You will need to contact Mathworks for free installation support. The volunteers who answer questions here do not have access to the license database.
