How to export patch object to .ply or STL file?

Hello, I have a patch object that resulted from the isosurface/isocaps functions, exactly like this tutorial: https://www.mathworks.com/help/matlab/visualize/techniques-for-visualizing-scalar-volume-data.html and I need to export the patch polygon into a .ply or .STL file? how I can do this? do I have to convert the patch polygon into points of cloud set? and how I could do so?

Could you please advice me with more details?
Go to the link download the function.....read the help part of the file. It is a straight forward job. The function demands some inputs, you run the function with required inputs and you will get your .stl file.
May i know how to make the stlwrite function work if my traingulated patch is a cell of n rows and 2 colums. Basically I have n polygons inside the triangulated patch and would like to convert al of them to stl in one file.

Since R2018b, MATLAB has built in STL tools stlread() and stlwrite(). Third party tools aren't needed, they have different behavior, and are likely to cause name conflicts.
For multiple objects in a single STL:
