How to retrieve missing Property Inspector

7 views (last 30 days)
I use GUIDE to build GUIs. Property Inspector is an important companion tool for controlling specifics of each GUI element. On my system it has spontaneously decided not to appear when called. GUIDE comes up normally, but none of the usual ways for accessing Property Inspector work. No error messages. It just doesn't appear.
I've rebooted. Reset layout to default. Tried other layouts. No joy. Next option seems likely to be reinstall MATLAB. Can anyone think of any other things to try before that?
Thanks,
Mike

Thanks Sean. Turns out to be a Windows multi-screen issue. Occurs when you adjust the spatial relationship between primary and secondary screens (to left, to right, above, etc.) I'd made a subtle adjustment to my setup (days ago). When i did that again today, the Property Inspector reappeared. Windows thought it was there all along. Alt + Tab showed it in my list of windows, but it wasn't displayed. Just one of those weird things.

I haven't. Didn't know about it. Would love to think there's something better than GUIDE. It's lame. You've gotta be REALLY careful or it steps on itself (and your code). I'm running R2014b. Is App Designer included in that?

No, app designer started shipping in 16a and became really use-able in 16b.
It's now much better than GUIDE in pretty much every way.
