File path issue - cannot restore or clear cache
Show older comments
I am having a world of trouble restoring my default file path using restoredefaultpath or Set Path --> default or updating the toolbox cache in Preferences. Every time I try any of these moves I get "Undefined function or variable 'eml_invariant' "
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but MATLAB still ceases to recognize that my laptop has any folders in Documents. Any suggestions to ameliorate this chaos?
Additionally speaking any time I try to call pathdef.m or find it I receive "Attempt to excute SCRIPT edit as a function"

I believe these steps might help you resolve the issue:
1. Delete your preferences directory - prefdir, it may be in location like - C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\MathWorks\MATLAB
2. Then try restarting the MATLAB and execute restoredefaultpath command.
