Successful installation of Simscape Multibody, but one problem in function 'smimport'
Show older comments
My matlab version is R2018b. I installed the Simscape Multibody successfull. But once I use the function ' smimport' or 'mech_import', it will display the following problem ' 'smimport' requires Simscape Multibody.'

Hi - if it recognizes the function but will not let you use it, it seems like you have installed it but do not have a license for it. Try typing 'ver' at the command line to see what product licenses you have.

I have the same problem and these are my licenses:
Simulink Version 9.3 (R2019a)
Simscape Version 4.6 (R2019a)
Simscape Multibody Link Version 6.1 (R2019a)

You have Multibody Link installed but not Multibody itself.

So what should we do to have Multibody itself installed now @Walter Roberson ?

Use the Add-on Explorer to find the product and click to install it. If it does not give you the option to install it then either you are using an older version of MATLAB that does not have that installation feature, or else you do not have a licence for it.
