They will send you an email with what to do, if you sent in the crash report. If you don't, you can call them. Call the Mathworks directly (not us) with all such crashes (crashes of MATLAB itself rather than your program).

If you get a crash report window, they will automatically send you (after the support person reviews your report) a message like the one below I got yesterday:

If you would like assistance, please reply to this message and we will be happy to help you.

If possible, please include the following information in your reply:

(1) The steps needed to reproduce the issue.

(2) Any relevant files necessary to reproduce the crash.

This information will help us further investigate the cause of this crash.

I didn't have to visit the web site - it came automatically. However, I don't always get a crash report screen. Sometimes it just vanishes and I restart and never see the crash report window. In that case, just call them or email them if it happens repeatedly. For the above case, I just ran the m-file again and it didn't crash it so I didn't bother to follow up on the "unknown issue."

On my old computer when it crashed, the majority of the time the analyst responded that it appeared that my crash was due to a problem with my video adapter driver.
