Why do I get an "gmake *** access denied" error when trying to build my model?

When trying to build my model, I notice the following error message:
gmake * access denied
Why am I unable to build sucessfully?

Anti-virus software may be blocking the build process. Temporarily disable the anti-virus software to complete the build.
