Not able to click anywhere using MATLAB on Linux

In MATLAB R2018b, when I open MATLAB it is behaving in a very extrange manner. I am not able to click the menus or click the console or the editor. Some things are working, for example left click on editor shows the context menu, but the majority aren't.
I tried uninstalling MATLAB and when I try to reinstall the installer window is showing the same behaviour, it does not let me click the "Continue" button or anything.
I am using Ubuntu 18.04, this extrange behaviour appeared without me performing any update or nothing that I think can be related.

Did you ever find a solution? I am having a similar problem in 2022a.
