Export figure, print -dpdf converts 'x' to '#'?

The operation print(h,<filename>,'-dpdf','-opengl'), switches 'x 10^4' on the y-axis with '# 10^4'. So 'x' becomes '#', which is really weird.
Does anyone here have an idea on how to fix this bug?

I tried to reproduce the same behaviour on my end, but failed. Pelase provide reproduction steps.
