How to overlay a coordinate system on an image?

Dear Matlab community,

I'd like to overlay a coordinate system with a x- and y-axis on an image.

The program code should work with different images (always the same size). The user should have the possibility to adjust the axis per input interface (so an user dialog box).

Cause I lack in knowledge, I thought to simply ask the community: Do you have recommondations on solving my challenge?
